Vulcan is an active and proud partner in the INROADS program, the nation’s largest non-profit source of paid internships for undergraduate, minority youth. Interested students must pursue a college degree in business, accounting, actuarial science, engineering, computer and information sciences, sales, marketing, allied health, healthcare management, or retail store management. The student must maintain a B or better grade point average. Vulcan has hired a number of INROADS interns upon graduation, which is the ultimate goal of the program.
If you would like more information on how to participate in the INROADS program, talk to your school counselor or visit the INROADS website at www.inroads.org.
“My experiences at Vulcan have been nothing less than exceptional. I have come in contact with some of the most wonderful people who are always willing to lend a helping hand and aid in my development. While at Vulcan, I have learned a lot about diversity. There are many different people with quite a lot of differences among them. Being at Vulcan has taught me that these differences are not as uncommon as I once thought. One of the most memorable things about Vulcan is their family orientation. Everyone always speaks to one another, and everyone treats each other with great respect.”
Jabari A. Brown, Engineering Major
“My experiences at Vulcan have allowed me to mature into a young woman. I will be turning 22 years old in a couple of months. When I look back over my internship, it amazes me how much Vulcan has helped change me from that 17 year old girl back in 1997 to the young woman I am now. No matter what happens, I will always appreciate how Vulcan gave me a chance to become a better leader in corporate America.”
Amanda Dudley, Accounting Major
